The mission of the University of Kota is to make this university a great seat of learning and resource centers in the departments for teaching and research in various skills and interdisciplinary field in which students can bring out their hidden opportunities in lime light and contribute effectively towards the development of their beloved motherland 'Bharat 'and humanity as helhet.Universitetet Kota was established in the year 2003 in a culturally rich city of Kota situated on the banks of holy river Chambal. University came into existence through the enactment of the Government of Rajasthan vide order no. F.21 (2) Edu 4/2003 dated 29-0902003 under the provision of Section 4 (1) and 50 (1) of the University of Kota, Kota Act , 2003.
University of KotaPresently, 175 colleges of the state, namely Kota, Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar, Karauliand Sawai Madhopur is under the territorial jurisdiction of the university. The University has six faculties, namely arts, science, social sciences, business and management, law and education. Various academic programs run well on campus and the affiliated Colleges. Courses, namely M.B.A., M.I.B., M.C.A., M.Sc. (Pure chemistry, industrial chemistry, physics, energy, Wildlife Life Sciences), MSW, MA / M.Sc. (geography and military) M.A. (Sociology and heritage, Museologyand Management), M.Phil. (trade, chemistry, physics, geography, history, political science and sociology), Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS, LL.M., MPEd., Ph.D. programs (Audit & Business statistics, financial management and management accounting, business administration / management, law, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, music, Urdu, drawing and painting, chemistry, botany, zoology, mathematics, physics, public administration, political science, economics, sociology geography, history, home science, education, library and computer science, etc.) run in the campus.
University of Kota is unfolding wings in research. The University is now destined for meaningful and socially relevant research and register students for doctoral programs through entrance exam UGC guidelines. So far, the University has awarded 96 doctoral degrees and around 1116 doctoral researchers working in different disciplines with about 208 approved research supervisors. Many students have research funds through various state and national funding agencies. University Departments are regularly organize state and national level seminars and conferences and publish corresponding number of research articles in reputable journals. Receiving a large number of projects from various departments of Govt, India, Govt of Rajasthan and other agencies and is recognized by Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science Technology Govt, India as an emerging research center in Rajasthan. Dr. Anna Jonsson Swedish International Development Agency (pages), Govt, Sweden, Sweden, visited the University underthe cooperation project.
