Basis for SGT Dental college was established in August 2000 with the declared goal of the following and spread the message of Sri Guru Govind Singh, who said that the highest service to humanity is through the spread of learning. Management of college therefore aims to achieve academic excellence, as well as providing health institutions through this institution. The first academic session started in 2002-03.

B.D.S
Duration:- 4 + 1 Year Internship
Eligibility:-
The candidate must have passed both the following examinations:-
Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) of Board of School Education,Haryana or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks in english and 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology taken together in qualifying examination. However, the candidate must obtain pass marks in these subjects separately.
The candidate must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of the competitive entrance examination by securing not less than 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology taken together in the competitive examination.
Admission:-
The State Admission Committee Haryana has unanimously decided that the management of all the Private Unaided Dental Institutions may be allowed to fill up 35% of the total intake, from the following sources, on merit in fair and transparent manner:-
From amongst the rank holders of All India Premedical Test conducted by the CBSE.
From amongst the rank holders of Combined Premedical Test( Physics Chemistry and Biology) conducted by the State Govt.
The admission shall be made strictly as per eligibility criteria laid down by Dental Council of India/University after getting due permission from Govt. of India.
50% of the total intake of the Private Unaided Dental Institutions may be filled up through counseling to be conducted at Rohtak by Director, PGIMS, Rohtak on the basis of merit list of the Combined Premedical Test 2007 conducted by the State Agency i.e. MDU, Rohtak.
The vacancy position shall be reported to the State Admission Committee after every counseling or before conducting next counseling. If the seats remain unfilled / vacant after two counseling's by adopting the method of admission, they will approach the State Admission Committee for further directions.
Seven days time shall be provided to the admitted candidates for submission of fees.
The 15% seats meant for NRIs shall be filled up from amongst NRIs and their children/wards as per directions of the Apex Court in PA Inamdar case, on merit in fair and transparent manner by giving Public Notice in leading national newspapers with wide circulation. Fees against NRI seats shall be charged strictly as per the directions of State Fee Committee.

MDS (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)

Eligibility for Admission:
* A candidate for admission to the MDS course must have a BDS degree from a college and university recognised by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, Haryana and the Dental Council of India. And minimum 50% of marks in competitive entrance examination are required.
* Candidates not possessing a recognised dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his/ her qualifications by the Dental Council of India before being admitted to the MDS course of any university in India.
* Candidates who possess PG Diploma in a particular speciality from a college or university recognised by the Dental Council of India is eligible for admission to MDS in the same speciality. The duration of course for such candidates will be 2 years.

Duration of the Course:
The regular MDS course shall be of three years duration. All the candidates for the degree of MDS are required to pursue the recommended course for at least three academic years as full time candidates in recognized institution under the direction of the Head of the Department, who has to be a recognized postgraduate teacher in that specialty.


MDS (Oral Medicine & Radiology)

Eligibility for Admission:
* A candidate for admission to the MDS course must have a BDS degree from a college and university recognised by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, Haryana and the Dental Council of India. And minimum 50% of marks in competitive entrance examination are required.
* Candidates not possessing a recognised dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his/ her qualifications by the Dental Council of India before being admitted to the MDS course of any university in India.
* Candidates who possess PG Diploma in a particular speciality from a college or university recognised by the Dental Council of India is eligible for admission to MDS in the same speciality. The duration of course for such candidates will be 2 years.
