School of Open Learning

School of Open Learning [a part of the Open Learning Campus], formerly known as the school of correspondence courses and continuing education, established under the University of Delhi in 1962, is a pioneer institution in the field of distance education in India.

The country witnessed the beginning of an alternate mode of education when the school began with a modest reception of 900 students in 1962. School enrolled more than two lakhs students in the academic session 2006-2007,. In many cases, our students have been toppers in various disciplines. The process of admission to various courses in the school is governed by the norms established by the Delhi University. Also examination is carried out at the University of Delhi. Delhi University confers the degree of school students as is the case with its constituents colleges. There is no difference in the curriculum of the course, followed by the school of open learning and other aspects of colleges and departments of the University of Delhi. In order to meet the needs of the growing number of students the school was founded in the Training Center South mochi bug from the academic session 1990-91. In order to reach a larger number of students the school is in the process of opening a training center in the eastern and western part of the National Capital Region of Delhi.

The school offers degree courses students / Postgraduate subjects Arts / Humanities and Commerce. The course is taught primarily through well-prepared printed course material which is distributed by mail to all students. It is also supplemented through personal contact programs for students in various research centers working in the school. Experienced teachers are always available on the main campus for academic interaction with students.

The school offers courses through distance education mode which is a viable alternative for students who need a flexible medium of instruction to attain higher education and professional skills.

In addition the school supports a well-stocked library to facilitate wide exposure to contemporary events in streams of courses. The school also has a training center in the South South mochi bug, New Delhi.

The well-appointed faculty is always available on the main campus for academic interaction with students.
