This year around eighty-four students with different disabilities are likely to be benefited under government grant Saksham, told Parliament on Wednesday.
The plan was implemented by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) through all India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to provide encouragement and support to 1,000 students with disabilities to pursue technical education.
"This scholarship is for students with disabilities differently-family income is less than Rs.6 lakhs per annum. Current year financial 84 differently abled students are likely to be benefited under the scheme based on applications received up to date, "HRD Minister Smriti Irani said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
The amount of the scholarship will be called including the registration of Rs.30,000 or the present, it is less and Rs.2,000 per month for 10 months as a contingency allowance. Successful candidates for this scheme based on a qualifying examination pursue technical education institutions AICTE approved.
