Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics has invited application from eligible candidates for the PhD program for increased 2015-16. PhD programs offered in the area below:
Doctorate in Physics
PhD in Biophysical Sciences
Last date applies: December 31, 2014
Students are invited to participate in Ph.D. program of the Institute of Physics and Biophysical Sciences (2015-16 session).
Eligibility: For physics, master degree in physics. For Biophysical Sciences, Masters 'physics / chemistry (with biosciences at 10 + 2 level) or Masters' degrees in Sciences (chemistry and mathematics at 10 + 2 level). Students in the final examination for their masters degrees may also apply.
Important Dates: Online application will be available from December 1, 2014 and last date for application is December 31, 2014.
Nationwide written test will be held on March 1, 2015
Admission: A first screening will be done based on previous academic records. Those who qualify screening may appear in the written test. On the basis of performances in the written test and previous academic records, is a short list of candidates drawn up called then for interviews. The final selection is made based on performances in the written test and previous academic records, interviewed.
Jester / CSIR / UGC / DBT / DST INSPIRE eligible students must use the same form to apply and they will be called for interview directly, given the fullfil primarily screening criteria. They can also use the link in the left panel for details.
Indicative intake: 20 students in physics and 10 students in Biophysical Sciences
Communities and benefits: selected students are admitted in the Post-MSc as Junior Research Fellows (JRF) of the Institute. They get scholarship RS 16,000 / - per month. Personal medical benefits are available in the rule. In addition given house rent allowances (HRA) at the rate of 30% of the community in case hostel Accommodation not provided. An annual alternative granting of Rs. 20000 / -also given to each student.
