Kerala State Education Minister PK Abdu Rabb is experiencing strong opposition to transfer headmistress for criticizing the government minister in his speech of gratitude for later come to function organized Cotton Hill Government Girls higher secondary school in Thiruvananthapuram on June 16.
Headmistress Urmila KK Devi, who faced the wrath of the minister, approached the Kerala Administrative Tribunal against the government to translate it. Devi in the media reported that she had never insulted a minister who came three hours late for the function.
"I only said that if the organizers knew about the late arrival of the minister, they could have scheduled the meeting accordingly," said Urmila Devi. Video of his speech at the function, which was identified in the media later was proof of its claim. Administrative Tribunal, which considered its statement on Thursday postponed its hearing on Friday. But the tribunal maintained that the order can not be suspended, as another teacher took over the duties as director of the school on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Oommen Chengdu supported by the Minister and said that the issue had been blown out of proportion and the opposition action against the director of the school was taken after receiving the report of the probe. "The headmistress can go to appeal," said Chengdu in the Assembly on Thursday.
