Higher Education Minister Pradeep Panigrahi of Odisha recently visited some schools and disappointed to see the lack of knowledge of many students.
"The proportion of pupils should state national and international level is very symbolic. While the success rate of students from other countries, especially in South India are higher," said the minister, PTI reported.
"Time to think of sorry state of affairs prevailing in the state and implement measures to produce the best students," he said. "Being Education, I am ashamed of the bad condition," he said.
He asked teachers to rehabilitate the current curriculum for higher education and designing it properly so that students are ready to compete nationally and internationally.
He said that there are vacancies in major labor nationally and internationally. But students of Odisha could compete unless they improve their standards of education.
"University authorities and responsibilities should take to meet the challenges," said Panigrahi.
He stressed changing the teaching method and incorporates a method where it is common interaction between students and teachers. Simultaneously asked Minister teachers update.
