As declared by UNESCO, the CBSE has asked schools to celebrate February 21 as divas Matribhasha Day.While mother tongue or the Board says it is not mandatory to carry out all the activities of the day, such as the elocution, debate and other extracurricular activities, CBSE director Sadhana Parashar said, "has decided to celebrate Matribhasha Diwa 21 February in order to promote the use of mother tongue and get some language-related goals."
The goals include raising awareness about the use of the mother tongue for the development of the nation and also give competition in their respective mother tongues. Celebrating these days to help in the transmission of the National Union and promote the unity of the nation. Celebrating a Day of the mother tongue in school are expected to help children grow up with the values of the nation and the essential understanding of culture Índia.Algunes communicate schools close on February 21, which falls Saturday.
"Examinations of the school are still underway and students are still engaged. We can not spend a whole day for it," said the director of a CBSE school in Kharghar.
