No Sanskrit exams in Kendriya Vidyalayas this academic year

The Supreme Court said Tuesday that there would be no exams for students of Sanskrit class 6 to 8 in Kendriya Vidyalayas in the current academic session and does not enter the path to appear in Class 10 exams at the secondary stage back.

A bench of Justice Anil R. Dave, Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Arun Mishra said this after he said the Central Board of Secondary Education has written to Kendriya Vidyalayas Sangthan that these students do not appear to compulsory third language in the current academic year would not enter his way to appear in the examinations of the Board.

The CBSE in its communication to Kendriya Vidyalayas Sangthan said that these students do not insist on mandatory testing of third language for three years appeared in the class 10 board exam.

The court said that there would be no examination or assessment of Sanskrit in the current academic session.

It is mandatory that communication, which was put before the Court by the Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi addressed the objections raised by parents of students Kendriya Vidyalayas who argued that the government's decision conflicted with the CBSE curriculum says that third language test in compensation.

In other directions Tuesday, the court said it would continue to teach German as a language option and the government provide all facilities for teaching in Kendriya Vidyalayas. The court said that there will be language tests Germany.

German was introduced as a third language in Kendriya Vidyalayas following the signing of the MoU between the Kendriya Vidyalaya, which means Sangthan and the Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan in 2011 to train teachers to teach German. The agreement was for three years ended in 2014.

The Narendra Modi government, while the presentation of Sanskrit as a third language, has taken a position that was MoU was illegal and in violation of the constitutional provisions.

The government's decision to change affected more than 70,000 students were studying German.

The court hearings on the matter earlier told the government that under the Constitution, the formula says that three languages besides English and Hindi, students must learn a third language as a regional language.
