Kerala Cabinet on Thursday decided to Malayalam language skills required for jobs in the public service in the state. In this regard, the necessary changes will be communicated to the rules of service of Kerala, Oommen Chengdu Chief Minister told reporters.
In accordance with the decision of the candidates who have not studied Russian in the class-10 or at degree level will have to pass a special language exam if they have to get assistance from the personnel record. Applicants must pass a senior higher diploma equivalent examination conducted by Mission Malayalam, Chenda said.
However, in the case of linguistic minority Tamil and Kannada, will continue existing rule that candidates must pass an exam Malayalam within 10 years after their entry on duty. Test selection, which will be the equivalent of ten standard Malayalam exam will be decided by the Commission on the Public Service
The maximum age for people in general categories for getting jobs through the employment exchanges have been increased to 41 from 38 in the case of OBC it was raised to 44 to 41. In the case of candidates of SC / ST age limit was raised to 46 from 43, Chenda said.
