M.J.P. Rohilkhand University was established in 1975 as an affiliated university. Its status was upgraded to affiliating cum residential university in 1985 when four teaching Departments were established in the campus. In 1987 were added to three departments. In August 1997 Rohilkhand University was renamed as Mahatma Jyotiba Fyul Rohilkhand University. University adopted a general term development plan and thereby change the status of the university, including new Faculties of Engineering and Technology, Management, Applied Sciences, Education and Allied Sciences etc. It has more than 215 Associates colleges. The headquarters of the University is located in Bareilly with its territorial jurisdiction extends to the districts of Bareilly, Moradabad, Rampur, Bijnore, Jyotibaphule Nagar, Baduan, Pilibhit and Shahzhahanpure. On the campus spreads over 206 acre of land. The campus has an administrative building, the building of the Faculty, Central library, multi-purpose hall, a hostel for boys & girls, a quarter of staff to Vice-Chancellor and other university staff, faculty members, Non teaching staff, guest houses and a sports complex. It also has a medical center. Senior teachers of different disciplines in the humanities, science and technology work of research projects funded by various agencies, and was completed while 49 projects funded by the UKS, AICTE, DST, CST, Icarus, IACHR, MIF. Honor subsidiaries college is also involved in research projects funded by the above institutions.
