Jawaharlal Institute of Post graduate medical training and research is one of the oldest medical schools in India established by the French government as "Ecole de Medicine de Pondichery" in 1823. In 1956 was passed by the government of India and later renamed Jawaharlal Institute of Post graduate medical training and research. JIPMS has a large residential campus with 195 acres of land. It has all the modern facilities and infrastructure, along with qualified and experienced teachers.
Admission to the course M.B.B.S. 150 places is through an entrance examination conducted by JIPMS in various centers across India once a year.
The applicant should be an Indian national.
He / she has completed the age of 17 at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31, 2015 the year of admission to the first year MBBS, ie should have born on or before 01-01-1999
(Petition to relax from the prescribed age limit will not be considered for any category of applicants).
Applicants should have passed the qualifying examination as listed below:
(A) higher / Senior Secondary examination or examination of Indian school certificate equivalent to 10 + 2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years in order study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology (including practical tests in these subjects) or any other election with English level not less than the core English course as prescribed by the National Research Council education and training after the introduction of the 10 + 2 + 3 educational structure as recommended by the National Education
(B) the sun. Applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology and English individually and have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology qualifying examination and competitive entrance exam . For candidates belonging to scheduled castes / scheduled tribe or other Backward Classes / OPH marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology joining the qualifying examination and competitive entrance exams is 40%.
Course duration is 4 years and 6 months according to the academic calendar JIPMS followed by 1 year of compulsory rotating internship for the award of degree.
Pattern of examination
MBBS course for the entrance exam is performed in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Culcutta, Jaipur, Pondicherry, New Delhi, Pune, Trichy, Vijayawada and Tiruvananthapuram. The results are published within a week and the selection is based on the marks obtained in the entrance tests. Entrance test consists of 200 multiple choice questions also English, physics, chemistry and botany zoology. There will be four options for each question and there will be no negative score.
