For sound health of medical education

Students who take science after 10th grade allocated items that have not been prepared keeping in mind the medical air. First-aid training should focus on human anatomy and physiology

Indian doctors are revered around the world, but their status in the country, however, is doubtful. In recent years we have witnessed many a scandal about the modes of selection for entry into medical colleges, corruption in the selection process, fictitious candidacy and almost transparent process payment of the tribute.

Year goes by without a trial in the selection process to the Supreme Court to intervene on a regular basis. This year too, the Supreme Court issued a directive to start a new session on September 1, so that the whole mess sorted out. Most state medical colleges shameful, as they lack the infrastructure, staff and most importantly the patients.

The problem in the process of medical education begins immediately after class 10, when a student chooses a medical air. Not studied in sync with the requirements of the medical stream. Students are trained to a very high level of physics, chemistry and biology (including parts of Botany). Level physics / chemistry is the same as the flow of students. Besides an additional subject should be taken in addition to English. To make matters worse, coaching classes hike up the level further to include additional topics. As a result of the bombing of the students with the knowledge wasteful. First-aid training should be focused on human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, and essentials of complementary items like organic chemistry, genetics and biophysics. Students were taught in such a way will be better prepared if they opt for medical, dental, physiotherapy or other paramedical stream.

The selection process for entering medical colleges are the most unfair. There are several systems and several exams. Each state has its own exam, and each state has a number of entrance examinations.

Exams are profitable machine. Examination fee Rs.1,000 may seem reasonable, but its translation for students Kyat means a collection of about Rs.10 crore. There is a need to have a central common entrance exam as CBSE exam. Merit for the state or central quotas or public / private colleges should be based on this exam.

Private colleges / minority under no circumstances should be allowed to follow their own schedules reception should not be the prime institutions to allow a separate exam. Several entrance exams lead to confusion as the brighter students get selected in many colleges and take your time to decide where they would like to join. As a result of several rounds of consultations, increasing the financial burden of students on.

Government of the Union tried to implement such a model, but Honourable Supreme Court rejected it. There is a need to relook into this process and overcome legal obstacles by bringing the judiciary to establish a system. Unfortunately private medical colleges belong to the powerful (with various political series) and they can never allow such a fair system from being implemented.

Currently, there is an emphasis on certain paraclinical and clinical topics relatively small, although there is inadequate teaching radiology, anesthesiology, medical ethics and research methodology. This anomaly needs to be addressed. The most important period in the medical school training and it unfortunately most neglected period. Colleges should return to the policy of allocation of seats on the basis of GHG performance during MBBS. To resolve the system of inequalities, PG must be done in the same University. The government has recently proposed to increase the duration of the internship to two years to improve rural health care facilities. There could be no worse than thought, than this because it would mean sending a half-baked selfless doctors in villages that have just spent their time preparing for admission to PG. Increasing the internship period up to two years will improve the quality of doctors, but it must be accompanied by a decrease in PG for up to two years of probation and must be based in the hospital only.

To overcome the burden, the students agree on options abroad. Students coming back should be cleaned of foreign medical graduates exam (FMGE), but on average only 12 percent of the students are able to clean it. Without passing FMGE, the doctor can not be registered MCI to practice in India.

There is the need to create a separate body to regulate medical education on the line AICTE and limit its role in the regulation of medical specialists Medical Council of India.
