EDI - thirty years of nurturing entrepreneurs
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI), an autonomous body and not-for-profit institutions were set up in 1983. The Institute is registered under societies Registration Act 1860 and public trust law 1950. Over the years grown Institute its size and agenda. It has emerged as a renowned international primarly facilitate all facets of entrepreneurship development.

Recognition of UN ESCAP, Bangkok
EDI has been selected as a member of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) network of competence centers for HRD research and education. Given the development and growth, EDI defined the vision and mission as under.

EDI vision
"Becoming a recognized international primarly facilitate all facets of entrepreneurship development".

EDI mission
"To be a catalyst in facilitating the emergence of competent first generation entrepreneurs and transition of existing SMEs to growth-oriented companies through entrepreneurship education, training, research and institution building"

Institute basic strategy to realize its mission is to concentrate on some major areas to achieve their goals. Areas so selected must satisfy the twin criteria of social relevance and institute ability.

In consonance with the vision, mission and strategy, Edis portfolio of activities appeared aimed at:
create a multiplier effect on opportunities for self-employment,
reinforce the supply of competent entrepreneurs through training,
reinforce the supply of entrepreneurial coach motivators,
participate in institution building efforts,
inculcating spirit 'Entrepreneurship' in youth
promote micro enterprises in rural level,
develop and disseminate new knowledge and insight in entrepreneurship theory and practice through research,
facilitating corporate excellence through creating intrapreneurs (construction management),
sensitizing support system to facilitate potential and existing entrepreneurs to create and manage their businesses,
Cooperation with similar organizations in India and other developing countries to achieve the objectives above.
Driving values institute is innovation, experimentation, risk-taking, inclusion, think out of the box and four Ds entrepreneurship namely dream, dedication, discipline and determination.

Access to PGDM-DS
Total number of seats available for PGDM-DS 2015-17 is 60.

Graduated from the discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10 + 2 + 3) education and to have 50 percent or more (45 percent or higher for SC / ST candidates) aggregate marks in graduation level can apply for admission. EDI accept CAT / MAT / XAT / CMAT / ATMA scores for admission to the program. In addition conducts EDI own test and interview.
