Forestry Education in Kerala Agricultural University was started in 1986 with the creation of the College of Forestry in Vellanikkara, currently, College Faculty of Agriculture and is led by the deputy dean.

Bachelor of Science (Forestry) Programme-The college offers four-year degree program in the field of forestry. The main focus of this program is to inculcate the theoretical and practical knowledge in all areas of forestry. The course is offered under the course credit system for eight semesters, the last semester, being completely separated for off campus learning.
M.Sc. (forestry) Master (forest) is a program for two years (4 semesters) of specialization opportunities in the three disciplines of forestry, forestry and agroforestry, tree physiology and breeding and preservation of science.

Laboratory - Laboratory college is well equipped. Apart from UG and PG laboratories, separate for forestry, tree tissue culture, propagation of the tree, the tree of science, agroforestry, tree physiology installed and wildlife.
College Library-The College of Forestry has established a good library having a rich collection of books in the main subject areas of forest for frequent use by students. More copies of important books are available for students. Back volumes of some of the relevant research journals have also been purchased for ease of reference literature students and staff.
Research programs - more than 100 research projects have been completed / implemented in the college, students and teachers.
NSS-National service scheme (NRC) covers regular activities such as tree planting, front line demonstrations in technology transfer, village-level camps, blood donation drive purity, campus beautification, etc.
