Center on Tuesday sought an explanation from the Aligarh Muslim University (Amu) comment on the Vice-Chancellor Zameer Uddin Shah that female students should not be given access to a library of Maulana Azad Library Main Campus.
Mr. Shah caused widespread controversy when he said on Monday that the restriction of a huge space in the library and if undergraduate girls to access, will be "four times as many boys."
Union Minister of Human Resource Development Smriti Irani remark condemned as "an insult to our daughters." "There are some reports that hurts you as a woman," - says Ms. Irani. Ministry of Human Resources wrote to revise the rules that students denied access of women to the main library of the university. Vice-Chancellor rejected the accusation of being "sexist." He said that women graduate students and scientists were already using the library. But women students students who are well-stocked library in their own college crowd is the main library.
