Career Options in Advocate General

An Advocate General is the premier law officer a state public appointed by the governor in each state under the provisions of Article 165 of the Constitution of India. The location of the Advocate General is similar to that Justice of India (highest judicial officer of the Government of India). The only difference is that the Advocate General does all the work at the state level.

Office of the Advocate General is very constitutional and brilliant. Attorney general has been equipped with all administrative and financial powers. He is chairman of the attorney General Office is assisted by a team of law officers several attorneys general, SR Deputy spokesperson General, deputy attorneys general and the assistant attorneys general. Those wanting to be a general lawyer is necessary to have a legal education and membership in some bar the State Council.

To be an attorney general of the state, the person must be qualified to be a judge of a supreme and that a person must:

be a citizen of India
has been an advocate of a High Court at least 10 years or two or more such courts in succession
has held legal office in India for a period of at least 10 years
High Court judges / advocate generals hold office up to 62 years.

Attorney General is not political appointee and are selected through a high committee. As the Advocate General representing the entire state, he should have the courage to tell the government of any errors or malafide decision it takes. Then select an honest, intelligent person in the State Advocate General.

Tariff Advocate General varies greatly depending on the cases (civil / criminal) courts and they appear. Advocate-General shall hold office during the pleasure of the governor and receive such remuneration as determined by the governor. Attorney General of the State India offered a monthly remuneration in the form of fees for appearance in court. They receive higher fees for appearance in the high court, and more for appearance in the Supreme Court on behalf of the state government. Attorney general also receives benefits in terms of accommodation, transport etc.
